APEX Awards 2025
The APEX Awards (Awards for Publication Excellence) are an annual awards program recognizing outstanding achievements in communication and publication. Now in its thirty-seventh year, APEX 2025 honors ‘excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and overall communications effectiveness’. Conducted by Communications Concepts, Inc., a trusted advisor to publishing, PR, and marketing professionals since 1984, the awards attract high-quality entries from corporate, nonprofit, agency, and freelance communicators. Judging is based on category-specific criteria, and this year’s 14 categories showcased an exceptional standard of work.
Learning Everest is grateful to be recognized with the Award of Excellence for the customizable, level-based eLearning game, “The Grand Pursuit.”
The Grand Pursuit
‘The Grand Pursuit’ is an immersive learning experience that tests and reinforces learners’ knowledge in a specific area based on the popular reality TV game show ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’ The eLearning initiative is Learning Everest’s innovative approach to bridging the gap between assessment and innovation and encourages learners to achieve the outcomes of knowledge, skills, and abilities through active recall and engagement.
With structured challenges such as the initial Fastest Finger First round featuring fictional characters, followed by ten levels of multiple-choice questions with continuous reinforcement, support levels, tiered monetary rewards, a quit button to retain earnings, and three lifelines; 50-50, Ask an Expert, and Audience Poll, the course offers a comprehensive, gamified framework for effectively evaluating learners’ comprehension. There are two versions of the game developed now: ‘Sustainability’ and ‘TPM’, each tailored to deliver specific learning outcomes by enhancing learners’ knowledge, skills, and abilities through interactive gameplay.
The participants reported a heightened sense of mastery and insight into the training topic, attributing the course’s engaging design and continuous reinforcement to a high-impact learning experience, with a survey conducted by Learning Everest highlighting that “100% of participants found the course was both engaging and interesting.” The Grand Pursuit showcases the power of gamification in eLearning, demonstrating the potential to reinforce knowledge across multiple disciplines.
