Islamic finance is distinct from the financial customs and practices typically followed globally. Islamic financial law has provisions for banking, leasing, investment, securities, equities, microfinance, insurance, etc. For instance, in Islamic finance, loans with interest are prohibited, as interest is seen as a mechanism that only benefits the lender.

The Relationship

The client picked Learning Everest as they were looking for an eLearning partner with experience in working on affordable and interactive multi-module courses within short timelines. Additionally, the client had specific requirements regarding the elements used in the courses so that the design would abide by their cultural and religious values.

The Client’s Requirement

The client required Learning Everest’s services to convert the training material they had curated into consumable eLearning courses. These courses were to have level 3 interactivities, making them dynamic, engaging, relatable, and easy to connect with for the learners. They also wanted the courses to incorporate scenario-based learning to give learners a more active learning experience, prompting them to be more involved in the learning process. Lastly, the client also wanted the course to reinforce and test important learning outcomes for maximum retention.

The Solution

Learning Everest developed a scenario-based course for the client with fictional facilitators and a structured learning pathway.

These facilitators first oriented the learners and then imparted the learning content to them in dialogue form. These dialogues were either among the facilitators or with the learner. The dialogue was presented as on-screen text along with a corresponding voiceover to make the learning multi-modal.

Additionally, each screen had a transcript for learners who wished to access it.

Apart from the training content, the facilitators also presented branched scenarios to learners where they had to make choices to proceed. These scenarios reinforced concepts and theories so learners understood their meanings and applications thoroughly.
Other strategies for revision and reinforcement were knowledge checks and scored quizzes at certain intervals so learners could practice what they learned.

The final product was a battery of level 3 eLearning courses that averaged at 1.5 hours per module. The client was satisfied with the solution provided and has added them to the trainings they offer to their clients.
